Plant Based Burgers!

Have you been interested in or have you tried Plant Based Burgers yet? If so how did you like them? If not what are you waiting for! not only are these swap outs delicious and nutritious, they are also filling and very easy to make! Veggie, Bean, Quinoa just to name a few are great alternatives for meat. They are all high in protien, potassium, Vitamins B-6, Vitamin C, Iron, Thiamin and minerals magnesium, phosphorus, manganese, and folate.


Having a plant based burger swap for a meal can also help with weight loss, feeling fuller longer, and other great health benefits.


Here I have made 2 different

versions that you can try out and have a wonderful burger meal with out any guilt!




Black Bean Burger

Ingredients: Servings 4

2 cans Black Beans 14.5(no salt added)

1 cup panko crumbs

1/4 cup diced onion( red)

1/2 diced plum tomato

1 egg( flax seed egg can be used)

1 tps garlic powder

1 tps onion powder

1/2 tps chilli powder

1/2 tps cumin powder

1/4 paprika powder

2 tbs olive oil

4 whole grain buns

Spinach, or lettuce, sliced tomato, pickle or relish and cheese

*To make a flax egg, mix one tablespoon ground flaxseed meal with three tablespoons of water. Mix together, and let sit in your fridge for 15 minutes to set up and thicken. It's that easy. You could leave it up to 30 minutes if you want to


1. Drain the beans and rinsed them off. Then add them to a mix bowl and mash them up with a fork or potato smasher.

2. Next add the egg, diced tomato, onion and panko crumbs.

3. Mix well and then add the spices.

4. Form 4 patties and refrigerate for 30 minutes.

5. Heat up the oil in skillet and add the patties 2 at a time depending on the size of your skillet. Cook for 3-5 minutes on each side until a the patties have a rich brown sear.

6. Add the burgers to the bun, with your toppings and enjoy!

Canneillini Veggie Burgers

Ingredients: Servings 4

2 cans canneillini beans (no salt added)

1 cup panko crumbs

1 flax seed egg

1/4 cup shredded carrots

1/2 cup diced zucchini

1/4 tps basil

1/4 tps garlic powder

1/4 tps oregano


1. Drain the beans and rinsed them off. Then add them to a mix bowl and mash them up with a fork or potato smasher.

2. Add in the flax seed egg, panko crumbs and mix.

3. Add in the shredded carrots, diced zucchini, and spices.

4. Form 4 patties and refrigerate for 30 minutes.

5. Heat up the oil in skillet and add the patties 2 at a time depending on the size of your skillet. Cook for 3-5 minutes on each side until a the patties have a rich brown sear.

6. Add the burgers to the bun, with your toppings and enjoy!

This is a very filling and rich bean with a nutty taste. Enjoy on a bed of spinach or on zucchini noodles with a no sugar added marina.
